In 1972, the Pittsburgh Steelers had played over three decades of professional football without a championship. Losing was very much a part of the culture in Steeltown, but the fans undying loyalty never waned. That year, the team would use the 13th overall pick to select Penn State running back Franco Harris, and that selection would be the lynchpin of something legendary to come. The Steelers would go on to win four Super Bowls in the decade, and are considered by many to be the most dominant NFL team of any era.
Franco's Italian Army was the brainchild of pizza men Al Vento and Tony Stagno. The video tells their story, which is absolutely classic. HIGHLY recommended.
